The Second Reason

Last Christmas, WD's stepsister gave us this tin of hot chocolate as a gift. And I gave her...nothing. On purpose. That sounds bad, doesn't it? I wasn't being mean though, just frugal. I was trying to cut down on the gifts to adults and focus more on the kids in the family. She assured me that it wasn't much, just a little something-something, no big deal. But I still felt bad. I grabbed my purse and frantically searched for something I could give her. A fuzzy lifesaver? An emergency pull-up diaper? A pack of crayons from Ruby Tuesday? No, no, and no. Not good enough. Oh, wait, I know what I can give her, MY UNDYING GRATITUDE FOR INTRODUCING ME TO THIS EXQUISITE DRINK!

Peppermint Drinking Chocolate is basically liquid chocolate with the taste of peppermint in every sip. The mix is made up of mini chocolate chips, cocoa, and sugar and all you have to do is add milk. It's just as convenient as those watery, weak hot chocolate mixes in the box but so much more flavorful. I recently bought a tin of it at Walmart for $5 and the 'best by' date is August of 2009. Good to know because I'm going to stock up.

You've sold me! The only problem is we don't have any WalMarts in France.
PS- don't you hate when someone gifts you and you have nothing in return?

I bought this because you kept saying how much you liked it since last year. First cup - eh, I didn't mix it very well, I guess, and had a lot of chocolate at the bottom, so I tasted a lot of milk.

Second cup - loved it! Used a whisk just to make sure it was mixed. Delicious!

Yummy! I'll have to go to Walmart today to pick some up! One of my favorite flavor combos is chocolate and mint!

BTW, I love the comment about offering her a fuzzy lifesaver, an emergency pull up...too funny!

Great gift!!!!!!! mmmmmm.
That whole gift giving/not! thing happened to me a couple yrs ago. Since then, I get a couple low budget items, wrap them and keep um handy for those unexpected gift givers! lol. This year I bought these really nice mugs on sale for $1.69 and filled them with individually wrapped mini candy canes

Ooooh where can I get some?? I love mint and chocolate as a combination - whether it's mint ice cream with chocolate chips or a chocolate bar with chips or mint inside, yummy! A minty chocolatey hot drink sounds perfect for those winter nights...
